Leading infrastructural engineering and architecture consultancy, Opus International Consultants Ltd has appointed three new Directors to its Board.
In announcing the appointments today, the Chair of Opus, Basil Logan said the new appointments of Kerry McDonald, Prof. Donald Trow and Abdul Rahim Md. Noh, will bring a breadth of skills and experience very relevant to the company's plans for continued global expansion and public company listing.
Kerry McDonald has been active in business in New Zealand, Australia and the UK for many years. An economist by profession, he was a Director of the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research Inc between 1976 and 1981, and in 1988 was appointed Managing Director of Comalco. He is presently Chair of the Bank of New Zealand; Vice-Chair of the ASX listed, Melbourne-based gold mining company Oceana Gold, and a Director of the National Australia Bank, Gough Gough and Hamer, and Ports of Auckland.
Don Trow was a Professor of Accounting at Victoria University and held a number of directorships including the New Zealand Stock Exchange. He is currently Chair of the NZX Disciplinary Committee and Smartshares Ltd. He is also a Director of Ryman Healthcare.
Encik Abd. Rahim Md. Noh is a graduate of the University of Southampton in the UK. He is an engineer by profession, and has held senior positions with GE International and EPE Power Corporation Berhad. He is presently a partner with the business advisory company Salwana and Rahim Associates and is a Director on the Boards of UEM Builders Berhad and Opus International Group Plc in Malaysia.
The new appointees will join current Board members - Dan Stevenson, Suhaimi Halim and Tan See Yin.
Mr Logan also announced the resignation of the Hon Philip Burdon who will leave the Opus Board, with effect from 30 April 2007.
